Protein Trail Mix + Krave Bar Review

It’s official. Zazu knows how to open gates.

After he mysteriously got out of our gates a few times, we decided to watch him. He stuck his paw in the one of the cracks and pushed until there was a little space. Then, he used his head to open it just enough to squeeze by. And he was off.

Why am I not surprised?? Haha. We fixed the issue with a few locks, much to his annoyance.

That’s why he was especially glad when I took him on a run yesterday. It was so funny though! My RunKeeper decided to freak out and said that I had run 4.27 miles in 11 minutes and 48 seconds. HAHAHA!  I wish!

With that pace, I should be in Sochi right now ;) In fact, I could probably run there in a matter of days with my “2:46″ pace lol!

Anyways, it made me laugh!

I refueled with a homemade protein trail mix that is so addicting. Cut up protein bars, chocolate, dried fruit, and nuts make this a powerhouse of nutrition.

  • 2 healthy protein bars, chopped into squares
  • 1 cup Dried raisins or cranberries
  • 1 cup salted or candied nuts
  • handful of coconut
  • handful of seeds
  • handful of Chocolate chips

I used this little gem- a Krave Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar sent over for review!

Each bar has 20 grams protein, 2 grams of sugar, 9 grams of healthy fat, and 16 grams of fiber. And they taste magical haha. They also sent over an apple pie bar which was  good as well. They use Stevia to sweeten them, and also some Sucralose.  I don’t normally do artificial sweeteners but as the occasional post workout snack, these macros are hard to beat.

Combine everything in a tupperware and shake it up. Done, done, and done.

Have a fantastic day and huge thanks to Pure Fitness Nutrition Krave Bars!
