Oatmeal is made by baby angels. It is delivered by heaven sent storks
It’s a perfect food. That’s why I have a Master’s Degree in making it
Ok not really, but they say practice makes perfect. It’s true. I make oatmeal almost everyday. I’ve got it down to a science.
Low and slow with banana and salt is the key to a perfect bowl of oats
It’s full of fiber, protein, complex carbs, and everything else magical. It’s PERFECT for those chilly fall mornings and nights.
- 1 cup rolled oats (not instant)
- 1 large banana
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 T. nut butter (I used cashew)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- A spoonful of coconut sugar (or brown sugar or honey)
- a pinch of salt
Begin by turning your stove on to a little higher than medium heat, and add your cup of oats. Stir them for just a minute until they are a little toasty.
Add the milk…
And your water…
And your banana…
And a good pinch of salt- I mean it! It’s the secret
When that is bubbly, reduce to medium low and stir stir stir until the water is absorbed. Takes about 5 min
Add vanilla and sugar and cinnamon
And WA-LAH! A perfect bowl of creamy oats I topped mine with cashew butter
