When I think about a raw food diet, what comes to mind is usually:
I rarely think of decadent bars, sinful tasting chips, and delicious granola. But thanks to talented companies like Lydia’s Organics, everyone is able to enjoy these foods!
Lydia’s Organics is a company out of Petaluma, CA that provides gluten-free, raw, organic, and vegan goodies of all sorts. They even have their own cafe!
When the generous package arrived from Lydia’s Organics, I couldn’t wait to try everything! From Kale Krunchies to Vanilla Crunch Cereal, I was over the moon.
Plus, the cute label they put on the package was so sweet!
Being the cereal fanatic I am, I started by opening up this bag of Vanilla Crunch Cereal goodness.
I topped off a blueberry green smoothie with this mixture, and it was heavenly to say the least. The cereal has a very mild flavor, so it’s great stirred into smoothies, etc.
I also loved it stirred into yogurt-With more for topping, of course:) I know yogurt is not raw in the slightest, but this combo is great!
Next up came the Green Crackers, which were another favorite! They are based on sunflower seeds and have a ton of veggies in them. I loved that they were a little salty- no toppings required!
Naturally, I couldn’t wait to long to open these Mega Green Kale Krunchies up.
These were good-sized and so flavorful from the cayenne! I’m a
total wimp little sensitive to spicy foods, so they were a bit overpowering on their own.
I mellowed them down by stirring them into soup. So good!
I was intrigued with the Green Powder, which has a licorice flavor on its own. It’s full of green goodness like spirulina, so I added a spoonful to my already green smoothie as an extra boost. The banana covered up most of it, but it did add an interesting-in-a-good-kind-of-way flavor.
The Sunflower Seed Bread was also a winner. They were more like crackers, but were great with hummus and other toppings.
I saved the best for last and finally broke into the decadent bars. I’ve always been a huge fan of this Spirulina Bar, which has a strong coconut and banana flavor. It’s amazing!
I thought the Cacao Crunch Bar could’ve been more flavorful and sweeter, but I was still a fan.
I did however love the Raspberry Bar as well as the Tropical Mango Bar, which I paired with a yogurt. My favorite of all, though? The Lemon Ginger. When is that mix not a winning combo?
And here’s the stats for the Spirulina Bar.All of the bars have saturated fat content ranging from 0.5 grams to 7 grams from the coconut. They all contain a good amount of fiber and protein, while staying low on the sugar and sodium. Another bonus? This bar has 30% of your RDA for vitamin A!
