First off, I hope you all had a FANTASTIC Christmas! Now, let’s get to the cookies;)
We all love holiday treats, and I am no exception! I love how, once a year, our kitchen gets turned into a bakery as we always make and send out giant batches of peppermint bark, cupcakes, or whatever is the trend of the year. Two years ago (before I discovered healthy eating!) I ate so much peppermint bark that people started asking if I was wearing a mint perfume! But let’s face it- after a while, the sugar catches up. After the first round of cookies, I crave real food, like bread. After the second round, I crave veggies and fruits. And by the time New Year’s wraps up, I don’t want to eat anything but green smoothies for the rest of my life!;) So this year, I decided to make a change. Treats would still be made, but with healthy substitutions to prevent those nasty sugar crashes. And so, without further adieu, I present to you the 2012 Holiday Dessert Round-Up!

Thanks Bec! Definitely- all of my chocolate is now in the freezer for when this Christmas sugar wares off;) Hope you had a great Christmas!

Gingerbread peanut butter sounds amazing!! Why have I never thought of this??
That’s what I said! And the recipe is super easy:)
All those desserts look fabulous!! Those Peppermint Patty Bars look especially decadent; I always love Angela’s recipes. And I do agree with you: eating too much refined sugar and gluten makes my stomach very unhappy–as I found out this holiday season:) I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
Haha! I’m surprised I didn’t turn red and white from all the peppermint bark I ate last year;) Agreed- I wish I could try all of Angela’s recipes!
Hope it’s not too late to make more Christmas treats, because so many of these ideas look incredible! Thanks for including my truffles.
Yum! These desserts all look so good! I especially love the strawberry santas…so adorable and creative! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Sunnie!
This all looks completely amazing! The little Santas are especially adorable!
Thanks so much! They are pretty cute- We put them out for Santa so I’m sure he was quite honored;)
Leave it to Sunnie…
All of these look awesome, I wish I wasn’t so baked out! I totally know what you mean about the green smoothies. I woke up last Saturday and all I wanted was a big glass of water, a run and some fruit and almonds. So worth it though!
Agreed! The sugar definitely catches up…pesky stuff;) Have a great weekend!
Too bad I didn’t see this before the holidays!! Just Kidding, I actually wasn’t too bad. A nibble here and a nibble there. Now I’m back on smoothies and craving my fruits and veggies.
Thanks for featuring my recipe!
Happy New Year!
